“How does one get a court order to correct a death certificate from divorced to married?”

If the death occurred in Florida, you must to file a Verified Petition to Amend Death Certificate in the county of the death, effectively suing the Florida Department of Health to correct the error.

The Department of Health then has the ability to contest your claim if they believe the death certificate is correct as it is. If they do not contest it, the court will enter an order changing the death certificate. Otherwise, we will present evidence to the court as to how the error occurred and why it should be corrected.
